    MEGA JACKPOT CRAPS

You might want to read how to play craps first.

So far played only at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Mega Jackpot Craps was originally introduced as a side bet. When a player gets the dice on the come out roll and becomes the new shooter, he can place a $1 side bet with the stickman for his chance at the progressive Jackpot.

The progressive Jackpot is a metered Jackpot, like those found more readily on slot machines. It starts at $2,000 and grows from there, up to $10,000. The new shooter bets his $1 side bet and if he rolls three consecutive "11's", Yo's, he wins whatever amount of money had grown on the progressive Jackpot meter up till then.

This variation on the game of Craps proved to be hugely popular, and hit quite often. Generally the Jackpot was won at around $4,000. But that wasn't enough for the Tropicana inventors.

I'm sure you will agree that a Jackpot which starts at $10,000 and grows from there is much more attractive, wouldn't you say? I would. Now this is a reality with the new Mega Jackpot Craps.

The way to win it is the same as in the original Jackpot Craps, however the new shooter has to place a $5 side bet with the stickman as opposed to the original $1 bet. This new Mega Jackpot is expected to grow to around $50,000 before it is hit, but even at $10,000 the $5 side bet is worth it.

Rolling three consecutive "11's" happens quite often. I have done this myself, but on that occasion this side bet was not yet offered. Needless to say a trip to the Tropicana Craps tables is now definitely on the agenda.
